Township Boys Capture Coaches Tournament Title in Nailbiter

Jim Bonder was at a loss for words. His Haddon Township boys soccer team had just won one of the most prestigious tournaments in the sport – the South Jersey Soccer Coaches Tournament championship. And when the veteran coach gathered his players after a penalty kick shootout win over perennial power Shawnee, Bonder kept his message short and sweet.

Doubles: Township and Haddonfield Tennis Title Winners

Call it a double championship Tuesday. The Haddon Township High School and Haddonfield Memorial girls tennis teams played in their respective NJSIAAsectional championship matches Tuesday afternoon. More important, both squads held post-match celebrations on their home courts.

The results don’t exactly come as a surprise as both schools entered the playoffs as No. 1 seeds.

Heights Girls Soccer Short on Seniors But Not Talent

Haddon Heights first-year girls soccer coach Ryan Yaniak entered his initial high school head coaching job with a major challenge of guiding one of the younger teams in the Colonial Conference. The Garnets might actually be the Colonial’s youngest team, with only one senior on the squad, midfielder- forward Brianne Repolio.
